Hi, and thanks for checking out Memoirs of a Globetrotter! My name is Kat. I grew up in a city called St. John’s on the island of Newfoundland on the east coast of Canada. Neither of my parents is from Newfoundland, so during summer holidays, we would often visit relatives in Singapore, Scotland and other parts of Canada. We also visited other countries in Europe and Asia. I looked forward to these trips every year, and I dreamed of exploring more of the world on my own someday.
As a child I loved flipping through the pages of my atlas, reading about other cultures and looking at beautiful photos of other countries. In university, I studied Marketing and International Business. During and after a semester abroad in France, I visited many countries in Europe and I fell in love with travel all over again! So far, I’ve been to more than 40 countries. I want to visit all 7 continents (yes, including Antarctica!) before I’m 30 and I hope to explore as many countries as possible during my lifetime.
I have experience travelling solo, as a couple, with family, with friends and on group tours.
I created this website to share my travel experiences and inspire people to travel!
If you would like to learn more about me, check out the interview I did with Sara from In Africa and Beyond for her Travellers’ Tales series.
